Embracing your dreams ?

If you knew it would work, would you do it?

Do you have the commitment and belief to make it happen?

Will you look back in 2/5/10 years and wish you had?

Looking at Olympic sportsmen and sports women - I am inspired by their focus, discipline, perseverance. They ride the good and bad times - and keep going for Gold! I wonder where they started, what their story is?

Today, stop, pause - what is really important to you about your life in the future?  Write it down and look at it again tomorrow and the next day...

What do you want to do about it?  Action plan - start taking one step, one action. Do it!

I have the privilege of seeing people achieve dreams, it's not fluffy and airy fairy - it happens,  some people make their dreams happen - will you be one of them?

10 tips to getting unstuck

Sometimes we get "stuck" even when we want to move forward - so to support you to move forward and get unstuck ... choose 1 action from below and do it!

  1.  Speak your intentions and actions out loud to someone
  2.  Get clear on the outcome you want
  3.  Get clear on the very next small step
  4.  Fast forward to a fixed time scale, year end, Christmas, your birthday, business plan, next executive team meeting, next restructuring  - do you still want to be in the same position then? What do you want?
  5. Do something different, anything just do it, preferably in the next 24 hours
  6. Listen to "possibility" talking ( not the voices in your head) ....... So ask yourself if it were possible, what would I be doing?
  7. Just push through, so stop any excuses ( I understand,  I make excuses too!!)
  8. Think of the pleasure you will feel when you're not stuck anymore
  9. Make that one phonecall, send that one email
  10. Get into action!

PS - this was off the top of my head, if I'd wanted it perfect I'd have got stuck!!

Starting point?

Where to start? Is that what you're stuck on?

Does "where you want to get to" or the change you seek/ need -  feel hard, too big, impossible, scary?

Whatever your circumstances - you can get going quite quickly. Sometimes talking to a coach is a good starting point, you will hear yourself answer where you are now and where you want to get too.

You will plan some actions to get you started,  depending on what you say. The agenda is yours, my only agenda as a coach is to support you get what you want, support you in achieving success.

When we want something, new, different, to change - take one action, however simple to get you going. You may already know what that is, maybe been putting it off, had it on a "to do" list.

Talking in an independent, confidential coaching session means you've taken a step to get you started. In my experience folks are very glad they took the step.

Just yesterday on the phone a client squealed and said "I'm so happy - I cant believe you've got this out of me, this makes me feel so good"  (She was talking about all the things she is good at for her cv/ job application).

And for some meeting a coach for the first time is exciting or scary and a range of emotions in between?

I'm here to support and would love to be working alongside YOU in getting what you want.

Do get in touch, no obligation. We can talk, meet and then you decide - however you will be clear on some actions to get you started.

Appreciation in leadership ...

What qualities do you appreciate in your boss, peers?  Have you told them?

What feedback do your direct reports give you, what do they appreciate? What could you do more of?

What would you appreciate most right now in the role/position/situation you are in?

What does that tell you? What can you do to get that?

What can you do today to show appreciation of others?

A pivotal moment?

Is that what you want?

When I asked a client recently how they'd been they said "The last session,  it was quite a pivotal moment and I've felt more of myself since. The old me is coming back...my confidence returning".

Made me think about pivotal moments?

How often do they happen in your life, your job, your leadership?  Was it obvious at the time, did you recognise it as such?

A pivotal moment which gives you energy, direction, insight, tenacity to see your dream, idea through - the tenacity to overcome bumps along the way. Step over bumps, don't stand on them for too long - your feet sink!

Take just a short moment to breathe and think...

When was your last pivotal moment?

  • How did it occur?
  • What does it tell you for the situation you're in right now?
  • What action do you need to take?

Take the first step, do it, keep it small and simple...

Change can happen for you and it can start soon - get connected to your pivotal moment for this time of your life. I'd love to work alongside you, in a holistic way, in your career and in your life.

Do get in touch for a confidential chat, ask anything you want and if you'd like to, tell me anything that's important to you to tell me.
